Bottle nose dolphins have exceptional ability. Despite the deep open wounds from bites of sharks, dolphins may heal wounds quickly without pain, bleeding, and infection.
Michael Zasloff, a researcher from Georgetown University Medical Center, published its findings in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, about some of the ability of dolphins to recover from injuries.
Shark bite wounds, some of them larger than a basketball, but recovered in just a matter of weeks without making a dolphin's disability, pain, or infection.
"If I look at events in humans, I would not trust it and it was amazing. Animals that evolved in the ocean with no arms and legs, swim much faster than humans, have the intelligence that is likely equivalent to the social and human emotional complexity, as well as the ability to heal far exceed human capacity, "says Zasloff.
Zasloff very interested in natural medicines and tried to imitate it. He has found a natural antibiotic that is used on the skin of frogs and dogfish sharks drug from a potentially cure cancer.
Some exceptional ability to work together to produce amazing ability to recover on dolphins. The first is the ability of dolphins did not experience severe bleeding deadly despite suffering with a hole large gaping wound on his body.
Zasloff said the marine mammals that dive there is the possibility of using the mechanism that stops blood flow to parts of the body is less important to reduce blood flow to injured areas when it starts to clot.
Second, during the process of wound healing, dolphin shows no sign of infection. Researchers found that the skin and fat layer of the animal contain antibacterial compounds that may help stop the infection in open wounds.
Dolphins also showed no reaction when the pain from the wound healed. Typically, open wounds are deep enough to change behavior and feeding habits of animals for several weeks. Although mortally wounded, dolphins still eating and behaving normally.
The ability to heal themselves very magical dolphins. "Within a few weeks, the dolphins can replace all the lost tissue, although the size of two football-sized, with no defects or grooves on their body shape," says Zasloff.
"They have the possibility of obtaining the regenerative ability of specialized stem cells, such as the number of amphibians that can grow a new leg," he added.
